The Red Earth Venue story.

Hi! We’re a nature-loving family rooted in the heart of Moab, Utah.

As a local wedding and portrait photographer, I witnessed a common challenge: couples dreaming of a beautiful, outdoor celebration were limited by permits, group size, noise restrictions, and had nowhere to party and celebrate. They wanted to share their vows, good food and celebrate surrounded by red rock and sagebrush— not four walls and fluorescent lights.

Many of them came here to share this wild, breathtaking place with the people they love most. But finding a reception space that honored both their connection to nature and their desire for something personal? That was the hard part.

With a background as a park ranger, I’ve always been passtionate about protecting our public lands. I saw the need for a sustainable, intentional space— one that could welcome guests without harming the landscape we all cherish.

In 2018 I began the journey to create that space. Four years later, we opened Red Earth in September, 2022: a venue designed for couples who want more than a wedding— they want an experience rooted in meaning, place and beauty.
