How long is the wedding venue rental period at Red Earth in Moab, Utah?

One of the unique aspects of our wedding venue is the long rental period. We host only one event per day, and your rental includes 12 full hours, from 10am to 10 pm, giving you and your team the time you need to decorate, prep, get ready, and return feeling grounded and present for the ceremony. We have the option of adding on an additional hour of party time. You can find that listed in our Add-On Brochure pdf. We know many of our couples and clients have traveled long distances to reach this unique location. We take that trust seriously and want to ensure that your event is given our full attention and care.

The design was a collaboration between a desert wedding photographer and a park ranger, combining a deep understanding of natural landscapes with the visual insight of someone who knows exactly what looks stunning in photos. That means everything — from the angle of the glass windows that flood the indoor space with natural light, to the orientation of the patios at sunset — was planned with epic wedding photography in mind.

From the moment you step onto the property, you’ll notice that Red Earth is unlike any other venue — not just because of the setting, but because of the intentional design choices throughout. Our indoor space features handmade Moroccan clay tiles that bring warmth, texture, and an earthy elegance, blending beautifully with the surrounding desert palette. The indoor/outdoor layout blends seamlessly into the environment, with open-air patios and expansive views in all directions. Every detail — from the modern light fixtures to the tile in our ADA-compliant bathrooms to the brickwork on the patios — was chosen with care. We prioritized high-quality, timeless materials that feel both grounded and elevated, creating a stunning backdrop for your celebration and your photos.

Is Red Earth Pet friendly?

Red Earth is a proudly pet-friendly venue — we love and appreciate dogs and want them to be part of your special day! Your pups are always welcome here, but please be sure they are either on a leash or well-behaved throughout the event to keep everyone comfortable and safe. We believe dogs are family, and we’re excited to help you celebrate with your furry friends by your side.

Why Red Earth Venue Doesn’t Offer On-Site Lodging — And Why That’s a Good Thing.

As a desert wedding photographer and the owner of Red Earth Venue, I’ve attended hundreds of weddings—and I’ve seen a pattern: when guests have lodging right on site, it’s easy for them to wander away before the party truly ends. In today’s world of Netflix & chill, and early nights, having rooms too close can unintentionally pull your loved ones away from the celebration.

That’s why we intentionally do not offer lodging at Red Earth. This choice gives you three important advantages:

1. Fully present, engaged guests — without the temptation to “call it early,” your celebration stays lively and meaningful until the very end.

2. More budget-friendly flexibility — Moab is a renowned resort town with a huge variety of lodging options, from luxury hotels and boutique resorts, to cozy vacation rentals, charming inns, campgrounds, and everything in between. You can choose accommodations that perfectly fit your group size, style, and budget.

3. Complete privacy and no noise concerns — because you aren’t tied to a hotel buyout, you avoid the risk of other guests complaining about noise, ensuring your event feels exclusive and uninterrupted.

We also work closely with a network of trusted lodging partners throughout Moab, offering special discounts and packages exclusively for Red Earth wedding parties.

Do you offer wedding planning services? Do you require a wedding or event planner?

While we do not require you to use a wedding planner, we have found that having professional planning support is the best way to ensure your event runs smoothly, stays on schedule, and is executed flawlessly.

We offer an in-house, independent wedding planning service tailored specifically for Red Earth couples. Our custom wedding coordination package is perfect if you want to plan most of your wedding yourselves but need expert guidance to bring everything together seamlessly. Our experienced planners know Red Earth inside and out and will help manage vendors, timelines, and day-of details so you can focus on enjoying your special day.

If you choose to forego a planner, please note that a $600 fee will be applied to your rental. This helps cover the additional responsibilities our on-site managers take on to support your event (this is not a day-of coordination service).

We’re often asked, “How much does a wedding at Red Earth cost?” The answer is—it really depends! Your total investment varies based on your chosen day of the week, the vendors you select, the elements you decide to include or skip, and the personal touches you want to bring to your celebration.

You can opt for one of our incredible preferred caterers featured on our vendor page—or keep it simple and fun with something like pizza! Whether you’re planning a budget-conscious celebration or a sky’s-the-limit extravaganza, Red Earth welcomes all couples to create a day that feels just right for them.

Because our venue was thoughtfully designed and set in a stunning natural location, you don’t need to spend extra money covering or decorating to make the space shine. It’s already breathtaking as-is. That means you can focus your budget on what truly matters to you both—whether that’s gourmet food, a live band, meaningful decor, or simply sharing the day with everyone you love.

This is likely the biggest party you’ll ever throw—and probably the only time you’ll gather all your favorite people in one place. So we encourage you to be intentional and choosy with where you invest, making every dollar count toward the parts of your wedding that mean the most.

What excursions and activities can I do with my guests?

One of the many reasons couples choose Red Earth is its incredible location — just minutes from Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Your wedding isn’t just a day; it’s an unforgettable experience for your guests. What do you offer for rentals and furniture?

At Red Earth, we offer a curated collection of custom-designed rental furniture that complements the natural beauty and modern design of our venue. You won’t find plastic folding chairs or generic rentals here — each of our pieces is handcrafted from natural materials like wood and metal to create a warm, elevated, and modern aesthetic that aligns seamlessly with the desert landscape.

Available for rent are our 9-foot rectangular dining tables, 8-foot round tables, ceremony benches, ceremony chairs, and two distinct styles of dining chairs — all thoughtfully made to enhance the look and feel of your event.

While our custom rentals make it easy to create a visually cohesive and intentional wedding, we also love seeing your unique vision come to life. If you’re dreaming up something different, we partner with outstanding local rental companies who can help bring any look or vibe to life.

What is your alcohol policy?

Red Earth does not provide or sell alcohol, and we do not have an in-house bar. All alcohol must be supplied by the client and served by a licensed and insured bar service. Self-serve bars and unlicensed individuals are not permitted to serve alcohol. Your bar service is responsible for checking IDs, ensuring responsible consumption, and complying with all Utah state liquor laws. Alcohol service must end at least 30 minutes before your rental period ends, and all leftover alcohol must be removed from the property. We also require that clients obtain event liability insurance with liquor coverage, naming Red Earth Venue as additionally insured. This policy ensures a safe, legal, and enjoyable experience for everyone on-site.
