Moody Moab Wedding - Abbey + Michael

Abbey and Michael's wedding was the perfect combination of love, authenticity, and the beauty of embracing the unique moments that life throws at you. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they met at the Red Earth Venue against a backdrop of moody skies and rugged terrain to declare their love and promise to spend a lifetime of adventure together.

A First Look in an Epic Location

From the get-go, it was clear that Abbey and Michael's wedding would be anything but ordinary. Their special day started with an epic first look at one of their favorite places in Moab, Deadhorse Point. A moment shared between just the two of them against the backdrop of the sweeping canyons. Starting the day at such a unique location that was so dear to their hearts, set the stage for the special day to come.

Personal Touches

It was very important to the couple to make their wedding day a reflection of who they are! As a tattoo artist, they wanted to incorporate his creative spirit into the celebration. A table covered with temporary tattoos (designed by the groom) allowed the guests to partake in the festivities, adding an edgy charm to the affair. But beyond the unconventional touches, what truly really stood out to us about Abbey and Michael's wedding was the genuine, kind, and sweet personalities of the couple that radiated from every detail of the day (including their guests!). Their wedding reflected their genuine personalities, celebrating love in its purest form.

Edgy, Boho, and Cowboy Chic

This celebration was a vibe! Details of their boho cowboy chic design came together with an edgy flare. Elements of rustic charm and laid-back elegance. Cowboy hats, feathers, and bolo ties added a western touch, while the temporary alien tattoos, group shots during toasts, a donut sharing, and the taco food truck incorporated some of the couple’s favorite things to complete the vibe of their special day that was truly and authentically THEM. It was a celebration that perfectly encapsulated Abbey and Michael's unique personalities and their love.

Leaning into the Moody Moab Wedding Vibe

As moody skies loomed overhead, there was a sense of anticipation in the air. And when the rain finally came, it was a symbolic reminder of the beauty of embracing life's imperfections. Yet, true to form, the rain held off until everyone was safely seated for dinner, and didn’t stick around long, blessing the marriage and then clearing up just in time for a night of revelry under the twinkling stars of the Moab desert.

A Magical Touch

To close out the reception program, the couple opted to add a personal twist to their special dances and brought them outside onto the Red Earth iron arches brick patio. It was a moment of pure magic as they shared these traditional dances beneath the desert night sky surrounded by the love of all their friends and family.

As the night drew to a close, you could feel in the air that this wedding day held depth; it was a testament to the power of love, friendship, and the beauty of embracing life's unexpected twists and turns. Everyone danced the night away beneath the glowing desert sky to celebrate Abbey and Michael. All who were present could feel how their love would continue to shine brightly, guiding them on the journey of life they promised to embark on together earlier that day.
